Minerva Canada is pleased to announce its 2020 Minerva Canada James Ham Safe Design Awards contest. This contest is open to full time, undergraduate and graduate engineering students enrolled in a Canadian post secondary teaching institution and resident in Canada as well as full time college students enrolled in either an Engineering Technology program or an Occupational Health and Safety Program and who are resident in Canada. The contest is only open to Canadian Universities and Colleges.
There will be a first and second prize of $2,000 and $500 respectively. The awards will be presented either at the Partners in Prevention Conference in Mississauga, Ontario or at the XXII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work 2020, in Toronto, Ontario. The final submission date for this Award Competition is April 12, 2020. Students are asked to advise Minerva Canada of their intentions to apply for the award by February 29, 2020. This can be done simply by sending an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Minerva Canada is a not for profit organization whose mission is to promote the teaching of Safety, Health and Environmental management in post secondary schools across Canada with a special focus on Engineering and Business schools. Past engineering student award winners have come from universities of Alberta, Regina, Manitoba, McMaster, Toronto, Ontario Institute of Technology, Western Ontario, Queen’s, Ryerson, Waterloo and Guelph. Aside from choosing projects they’ve completed during summer or co-op employment, students can also choose university, college design projects they’ve worked on or are currently in progress when applying for the award. The nature of the projects must meet the criteria contained in the contest criteria, contents, rules & regulations.
