Lassonde hosts Blockchain information and networking event.

On July 20, over 300 students and faculty joined members of the Toronto tech community to discuss all things Blockchain.

Blockchain technology is a digital ledger in which transactions made in bitcoin or other cyrptocurrencies are recorded chronologically and publicly.

It is disrupting global finance and is revolutionizing the way people do business.

The event was organized by the BlockchainHub, an initiative from Lassonde's BEST LabBlockchainHub's goal is to connect those involved in Blockchain research, education and commercialization at Lassonde School of Engineering, Osgoode Hall Law School and Schulich School of Business with the broader technology community.

The event included a presentation from Peter Patterson, Head of IBM Canada Blockchain Practice and Commercialization. Other speakers from Blockchain Canada and the inter-faculty Blockchain Research Lab also offered their expertise.
