Petrie Room 133
Experience Lassonde’s new e-classroom for yourself
Tuesday September 2 (next week) is your opportunity to check out the latest classroom learning technology being pioneered right here at the Lassonde School of Engineering.
We are not waiting for the opening of our new home in Summer 2015 to start changing the way our students experience education.
The e-classroom in Petrie Science & Engineering Building (Room 133) is a testing ground for the type of flexible, accessible, technology-driven learning that will soon become the norm.
The space is currently delivering blended courses for Internationally Educated Professionals seeking to gain accreditation for their qualifications in Canada in a province-wide program funded by Ontario’s Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration. Find out more on the website for the project here at Lassonde.
The project is led by Associate Dean Spiros Pagiatakis (pictured).
This “blended” learning model allows learners to participate in person while other learners actively and seamlessly take part in lessons online wherever they are – in different countries or remote parts of Canada.
The Open House will give you a chance to see the technology in action with demonstrations and explanatory videos. Staff will be on hand to answer your questions.
Room 133 will be open all-day from 9.00AM to 4.00PM so please stop by during the day to meet your colleagues who are working on this important initiative and get a glimpse of the future of learning.
No need to RSVP – just show up anytime on Tuesday to take a look.
