GoENGGirl connects girls with female engineering faculty, students

Posted on

The Ontario Network of Women in Engineering’s GoENGGirl program will host an event at York University’s Keele Campus on Nov. 24, inviting girls in Grades 7 to 10 to participate in hands-on engineering activities.

Participants will also have an opportunity to engage with guest speakers and interact with female faculty members and undergraduate students from the Lassonde School of Engineering. Parents are welcome to attend for an informative Q-and-A session about the field of engineering.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Life Sciences Building.

This effort to encourage young women to pursue careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) is an important part of Lassonde’s mission for 50:50 gender parity in its programs.

There will be a free lunch for participants. Register online at events.onwie.ca
