Portraits of Digital Canada – Photography Exhibit
Wednesday, April 24, 2019 | 4pm
Scott Library – York University
Join us for Portraits of Digital Canada, an engaging photography exhibit featuring a selection of portraits of the budding information age in Canada from the IBM Canada Images Archive. There will be opening addresses by:
  • Joy Kirchner, Dean of Libraries
  • Dave Robitaille, IBM Canada - Innovation, Citizenship & Government Affairs
  • Zbigniew Stachniak, curator of both the exhibit and York University’s Computer Museum
The majority of the exhibited images are authored by award-winning photographer George Dunbar. His portraits of digital Canada are not exactly what one might have expected from a staff photographer who was tasked with documenting his company’s corporate life. As a result, Dunbar captured remarkable portraits of computer makers, installers and operators.
Dr. Zbigniew Stachniak is an Associate Professor in the Lassonde School of Engineering’s Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department and is also the curator of the exhibit. For more detailed information on the exhibit please visit the online catalogue here
Hope to see you there!
