Lassonde students Erin Corrado and Theresa Nguyen competed in the Parliamentary Debate stream at the Canadian Engineering Competition hosted by the University of Manitoba this past weekend.

The Canadian Engineering Competition is an annual event which brings together the top engineering undergraduate students from all over Canada. During this competition, participants are challenged in their innovation, design, and communications abilities.

Erin and Theresa participated in the parliamentary debate competing against other teams on engineering issues in a double cross elimination style, placing third nationally.

“It was a great challenge and we made many friends along the way, and we are happy to have represented York University and the Lassonde School of Engineering on a national level, as we both love debate!” exclaims Theresa.
