Transportation Research Symposium drives innovation

On June 27 Lassonde hosted 45 students and faculty at the Transportation Research Symposium in the Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence.

The interdisciplinary conference featured presentations from members of the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, Schulich School of Business, Faculty of Environmental Studies and Lassonde School of Engineering.

The symposium served as a platform for the discussion of diverse topics including freight transportation, urban planning, smart cities, pollution, and renewable energy.

Department of Civil Engineering Professor Peter Park led the symposium.

"The symposium enabled engineers and scientists to cross paths and hopefully find common interest for future collaborative ideas," said Professor Park.

The symposium helped build on Lassonde's existing strengths in the field of innovative transportation research, such as the Centre for Automotive Research led by Department of Mechanical Engineering Professor Alex Czekanski.
