This energy and sustainability networking and collaboration workshop has been scheduled for Monday, August 27, 2018 from 9:00am-1:00pm. The location will be determined closer to the date of the workshop.
The goal of this event is to foster interdisciplinary collaborations to advance specific research questions. To do this, each participant will be asked to prepare a short presentation that focuses on a targeted research question that you would like to explore in a team setting. The presentation should not be a general overview of the research in each respective lab and should highlight the specific expertise you are looking for or would like to offer. It is suggested that each presentation begin with the direct question you are looking to solve. Each presentation should be direct and concise and no more than 10 minutes in length.
Following each presentation there will be a round table discussion (~10 mins) to encourage the generation of novel ideas and innovation. There will also be individual break time for independent discussion.
The workshop will end with a “Next Steps” session. In this session, we would like to know how you will advance any new collaboration and how we, the faculty based research offices, can help (eg. funding, industry partnerships). We are also hoping to offer seed funding from the Faculties/VPRI to help cultivate any new collaborations, and will discuss the details of this opportunity during this session.
