In early January, Lassonde’s Peer Helpers hosted the inaugural Lassonde Games, sponsored by IBM. Over 120 Lassonde students across all academic disciplines, competed in teams in an Academic Triathlon comprised of three unique competitions in Programming, Prototyping, and Innovative Design.

This year’s theme was based on the Colonization of Mars and encouraged students to solve interdisciplinary problems. After competing for over 14 hours, teams presented their solutions to a professionally diverse panel of judges, including faculty members and guest representatives from IBM, Nascent Digital, and Autodesk.

Overall, the event was a huge success. Competitors were able to come up with thought-provoking and integrative solutions, encompassing what it means to be a Renaissance Engineer and Scientist.
