Addressing the world's greatest challenges<\/h2>\n \n

The Department of Earth and Space Science and Engineering (ESSE) works to create exceptional science and engineering professionals and leaders in the exploration and understanding of the Earth and planetary systems, for the prosperity of a sustainable society.<\/p>\n

We provide high-quality education and conduct innovative research for the exploration and understanding of our planet, including its atmosphere and planetary space. We nurture creative science and engineering programs in an effective, stimulating and multidisciplinary environment in which students, faculty and staff can grow and excel.<\/p>\n

The ESSE Department is home to nearly 22 faculty members, 300 undergraduate and over 100 graduate students, and is one of the founding members of the Lassonde School of Engineering, offering several unique and world-class graduate and undergraduate programs.<\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n\n
