Each year, we work to help our students and faculty grow by offering support and creating opportunities for education, professional development and research.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2023-24, our professors were recognized by prestigious organizations such as the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE), Ontario Society for Professional Engineers (OSPE) and European Academy of Sciences and Arts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notable faculty achievements include an Ontario Minister&#8217;s Award of Excellence in <a href=\"https:\/\/lassonde.yorku.ca\/lassonde-professor-receives-ministers-award-of-excellence\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Innovation and Entrepreneurship,<\/a> and the Canadian Geophysical Union\u2019s J. Tuzo Wilson Medal for <a href=\"https:\/\/lassonde.yorku.ca\/lassonde-professor-recognized-for-exemplary-lifetime-contributions-to-the-study-of-earth\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">exceptional contributions to geosciences<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to advancing their fields through research and teaching excellence, our faculty are also actively supporting their students to succeed. Students have been empowered through initiatives like <a href=\"https:\/\/lassonde.yorku.ca\/best\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">the Bergeron Entrepreneurs in Science and Technology<\/a> (BEST) program and <a href=\"https:\/\/lassonde.yorku.ca\/ibet-fellowship-awarded-to-lassonde-student-who-is-working-to-bring-an-indigenous-lens-to-stem-education\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IBET Fellowship<\/a>, which, for the first time, was awarded to an Indigenous student. The list highlights scholars for both career-long impact and single-year citations. Lassonde researchers were recognized in 22 scientific fields and 14 specialized subfields, with strength in Artificial Intelligence (AI) &amp; Image Processing, which had the most global citations.
