{"id":49,"date":"2021-10-22T13:14:15","date_gmt":"2021-10-22T13:14:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lassonde.yorku.ca\/smart-art\/?page_id=49"},"modified":"2023-06-21T20:11:41","modified_gmt":"2023-06-21T20:11:41","slug":"applying-to-the-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lassonde.yorku.ca\/smart-art\/applying-to-the-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Opportunities"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Who can apply<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The SMART-ART program is an industry-oriented students training program for Undergraduate, Master&#8217;s, Doctoral, and Postdoctoral training in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Robotics, Computer Vision, and Systems Engineering for space exploration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>When to apply<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students can enroll in the TABES program in three academic terms: Fall term (September), Winter term (January), and Summer term (May).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Participation Terms<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the requirements of the University graduate program, the successful trainee must participate in all the organized events, annual summit, and annual Summer School to complete all the technical and professional courses of the SMART-ART program. Furthermore, the trainee must complete a mandatory industrial internship with one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lassonde.yorku.ca\/smart-art\/stakeholders\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">collaborating industry partners<\/a> for approximately 20% of the duration of the training (minimum 4 months for Master\u2019s students and 8 months for Doctoral students).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Application Instructions<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicant must contact one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lassonde.yorku.ca\/smart-art\/?page_id=323\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">participating team members<\/a> to agree to act as the applicant\u2019s supervisor or co-supervisor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicant must be accepted into a required degree program at one of the participating Universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The applicant\u2019s research area must align with one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lassonde.yorku.ca\/smart-art\/research-training-activities-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">research themes<\/a> of the SMART-ART program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Download the SMART-ART program application form here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The SMART-ART program welcomes applications from all qualified individuals, including, but not limited to women, persons with disabilities, visible minorities (racialized), aboriginal (Indigenous) persons and persons of any gender identity and sexual orientation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Who can apply The SMART-ART program is an industry-oriented students training program for Undergraduate, Master&#8217;s, Doctoral, and Postdoctoral training in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Robotics, Computer Vision, and Systems Engineering for space exploration.
