Brief biography<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My name is Atif Ali Khan, and I graduated from secondary school in 2015 at St. Fidelis School, where I also started my studies. I pursued and successfully obtained a diploma in civil engineering in 2019 since I have a strong enthusiasm for the subject. I enrolled in Zakir Husain College of Engineering & Technology, AMU, eager to continue my academic goals, and I graduate in May 2023 from the undergraduate civil engineering program. Throughout my academic experience, I developed my proficiency with a variety of software programs, such as Microsoft Office and HTML. My comprehension of the field was improved by participating in internships, which gave me priceless practical experience.My capstone project, “Automated Design of a Sewage Treatment Plant Based on Population Input Using Excel Software,” which showcased my technical proficiency and creative problem-solving skills, was the culmination of my senior year. My experience is a perfect example of how committed I am to both improving the discipline of civil engineering and achieving academic achievement.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Brief biography<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a Chemical Engineer graduate from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia (UNAL) and recipient of the Best Saber Pro\u2019s List 2020 for the undergraduate government exam in Colombia. Moreover, I have participated in research projects on new biotechnological processes adding value to products through the bioconversion of agro-industrial subproducts. Currently, I am an international student at the Lassonde School of Engineering in the program of Master of Applied Sciences in Civil and Environmental Engineering. As a York University researcher, I can focus on my mission of building a greener future, integrating environmental technologies oriented to achieve sustainable development goals such as offering clean water and better sanitation to communities. Together industries and academia can move towards a more balanced interaction between ecosystems and human activities, especially to prevent toxic chemicals that pose a risk to human and wildlife health from being released into the environment.  <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

I hold a BS degree in electromechanical engineering at the National School of Engineers of Sfax (ENIS), Tunisia. I developed skills knowledge in Materials Science, particularly in biocomposites processing. My master studies deal with the I developed a process to produce a biocomposite filament by extrusion filaments of 3D printing. My MS studies investigates the long-term mechanical performance of biocomposites through creep, fatigue, and relaxation tests. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Brief biography<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julia is a graduate of the Honours Biology program at York University where she is currently completing her MSc in the Department of Biology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julia\u2019s project focuses on exploring sustainable financial mechanisms for waste management issues in rural southwestern Ontario. She will investigate how Nature-Based solutions that use Indigenous Biodiversity can be implemented in rural areas using the novel financial tool, the Conservation Impact Bond, which incentivizes habitat restoration. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will include surveys to identify ecological blind spots, knowledge gaps and areas for the development of new kinds of Bonds, including their relevance to some of the existing TABES research projects. Julia aims to show the value of biodiversity along with its connection to the circular economy and climate change finance. Through this, Julia will provide industry with an ecological perspective, rooted in sustainability. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
