IC@L membership provides access to a suite of benefits which include retrieval of approximately 18% of the overhead of your funds, post-award services, accounting and financial reporting, funding for member collaboration incentives through minor research grants to co-supervised graduate students, funding to support collaboration with external institutions, funding for the organization of workshops, funding to support prototyping stemming from capstone projects, funding for invited speakers, and funding to support prototyping of ideas to engage industry partners. All these benefits aim to support and enhance the research program of our members.

One of the significant benefits of IC@L membership is access to overhead funding from grants and contracts. When a grant or contract includes overhead for indirect costs, 33% of the overhead ICAL receives is passed directly to the Principal Investigator (PI) to support their research activities, while IC@L retains the remaining 67% to fund its operations. In total, you will be getting 19.40% of your total overhead back, in addition to all the other benefits the Centre will offer you, such as student support, seminar support, travel support, workshop organization support, industry collaboration initiatives and networking.
Our members also benefit from access to the IC@L Research Enhancement Fund, designed to stimulate and support research activities. As campus operations continue to normalize, we anticipate increased participation in these funding opportunities. Available funding options include:

Small Research Workshops: To facilitate focused research discussions and collaborations.

Summer Research Student Support: To assist with the hiring of students during the summer months.
