My research is interdisciplinary and spans the areas of participatory visual methodologies, HIV and AIDS, gender-based violence, youth homelessness and inclusive education. I am driven to conduct research that meaningfully engages marginalized populations to address barriers to education and healthcare as well as to promote thriving. I have explored these topics with diverse communities internationally, including in India, South Africa, Mozambique, Sierra Leone, and Canada. I have been highly involved in the development of cellphilm method and have recently published my second book on the topic, titled: Cellphilm as a Participatory Visual Method: Mobilizing opportunities for research, teaching and social change.
