Canada contributed the Phoenix MET system to the NASA mission that landed in the northern region of Mars. These contributions were led by Professor James Whiteway with significant contributions by Professors Michael Daly and Peter Taylor. The instrument suite consisted of an atmospheric lidar (image foreground to the left of the mast) as well as pressure and temperature measuring systems (mast).
