On November 22, 2024, SmartTO organized a City of Toronto Urban Transportation Workshop at York University, bringing together City officials, OVIN/OCI representatives, and MOVE researchers to explore pilot opportunities within Toronto’s Urban Transportation Pilot Zone (TPZ). MOVE members delivered research presentations aligned with the City’s priority areas, including connected and autonomous vehicles, electric mobility, accessibility solutions, transit signal priority, and smart infrastructure technologies.
The workshop fostered direct engagement between City stakeholders and researchers, leading to the selection of MOVE members to advance several collaborative R&D projects with the City of Toronto. This event marked an important step in strengthening applied research partnerships and translating smart mobility innovation into real-world urban solutions.
