Patrick DROGUI is employed at INRS since 2000 and heads the Laboratory of Environmental Electro-technologies and Oxidative Processes (LEEPO) as a full professor. His main functions and responsibilities consist of developing research projects/programs while contributing to the training of Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) with academia, industry, municipal, and government with several effective transfers of knowledge/technology to end-users. He also works as an expert on numerous advisory and scientific committees for conferences and the evaluation of funding requests at the national and international levels.

Patrick Drogui has a solid background in R&D management of multidisciplinary teams for more than 15 years during which he demonstrated his vision, leadership, and in-depth understanding in the development of processes of prototypes/water decontamination tests and treatment of industrial effluents.

Under his leadership, INRS was awarded a Training Grant Oriented to Novelty, Collaboration, and Research Experiences (CREATE) from NSERC for the establishment of a unique training program in Canada in Environmental Technologies for Decontamination and Integrated Wastewater and Effluent Management (TEDGIEER).

Patrick Drogui obtained a master’s degree in physical science, then a post-graduate diploma (DEA) in Inorganic Chemistry/Industrial Chemistry and a doctorate in Process Engineering and Water Treatment. Patrick Drogui was a research associate at INRS and industrial researcher at Corporation Biolix before being subsequently recruited as a professor at INRS in 2007. He is the author of more than 220 articles published in international or national scientific journals, more than 138 papers presentations at congresses or conferences, 20 book chapters, and co-author of 8 patents.
