UNHack Challenge 3

Proposed by Student Counselling, Health & Well-being (Michael Sa’d)

How to use web-based tools to help students identify and address mental health issues?

Challenge Summary:

Student Counseling, Health, and Well-being (SCHW) provides health education, mental health counseling, and well-being services to York University students, as well as acting as a resource for staff and faculty partners. With the challenges and changes of accessing student services in a pandemic and post-pandemic world, SCHW is looking to develop an online/virtual space that will allow York University students to access on-demand mental health and well-being content and services through a virtual portal. We are looking to understand the student’s journey through virtual spaces, better understand how students engage virtually, as well as understand how to keep students engaged. SCHW’s goal is to develop a portal that will make mental health and well-being services accessible, engaging, and responsive to York’s diverse student population in Ontario and abroad.
