The Centre for Research in Earth and Space Science serves as an agent to enhance and facilitate collaborative, interdisciplinary research within the areas of astronomy and astrophysics, atmospheric science, earth science, planetary science, geomatics engineering, and space engineering.
The specific goals of the centre are as follows:
1. To facilitate collaborative, interdisciplinary research in Earth and Space Science within and beyond York University.
2. To enhance the graduate program in Earth and Space Science by coordinating access to equipment, laboratories and facilities in support of graduate student research projects.
3. To project an awareness of CRESS activities within York University and to the international community.
