About UNHack
UNHack: Solve Global Challenges in One Weekend!
Ready to change the world? UNHack brings together undergraduate students from all backgrounds for an unforgettable weekend of collaboration, creativity, and impact.
Hosted by the Lassonde School of Engineering’s BEST Program at York University, UNHack isn’t your typical activity, it’s a chance to roll up your sleeves, work with an amazing team, and take on some of today’s biggest challenges.
Over the weekend, you’ll dive into our design sprint process, where you’ll:
✔️ Pinpoint a real-world problem that matters
✔️ Brainstorm bold and practical solutions
✔️ Create an action plan to make it happen
This is more than just a hackathon; it’s an experiential learning adventure that will push you to think differently, reflect on what’s possible, and explore career pathways you may have never considered.

Join as a mentor!
Mentorship is a key part of Experiential Learning activities as it provides the most value possible to students as they gain invaluable advice from an experienced person, and build their professional networks.
Mentors reinforce the Design Sprint process, facilitate teamwork and guide students through the process.
By becoming a mentor, you gain valuable experience, build meaningful relationships with other students and will enjoy interacting with aspiring entrepreneurs.

In addition, we will have some specific challenges available from our sponsors/partners. You can choose your challenge or use one of the available challenges (e.g. YorkU SDG challenges).
After that, you’ll receive an email with your team details so you can join other participants who are interested in the same challenge.
