Mechanical Engineering Graduate Students’ Association (MEGSA)

MEGSA creates a sense of community and fosters a supportive environment where students can form friendships and networks. It organizes social events, visits to companies in various fields that enrich students’ professional experience and development.

President

Abolfazl serves MEGSA as the main representative who continually plans ways to deliver graduate students’ related concerns to the department. He has direct contact with the graduate program committee.

Vice President

Vice President serves as another MEGSA representative, mainly in contact with the Dean of the Lassonde School of Engineering, and he/she follows the development of the main program.

Treasurer

Treasurer is in charge of financial plans. S/He mainly comes up with efficient ways to spend the annual MEGSA fund that can beneficial for the majority of students.

General Manager

The General Manager serves as one of the contacts for mechanical engineering department graduate students and shares the main concerns of the students with the team.

CUPE Representative

Ehsan serves as the main contact for students to communicate with CUPE 3903. Students can share all their TA-related issues (Contracts, Bursaries, Benefits, etc.) with him. S/He is a member who participates in CUPE 3903 monthly meetings.

YUGSA Representatives

The representative attends York University Graduate Student Association (YUGSA) meetings, which are being held at the university level to discuss major issues related to graduate students.

Events and Social Media

The representative is responsible for organizing and planning social/entertaining events for MEGSA members. S/He always tries to engage graduate students via social media, particularly the MEGSA Facebook page.
