Lassonde professor speaks with Global news about Cassini

Lassonde Professor John Moores was on Global News discussing the Cassini Spacecraft that has finished its mission in Saturn’s orbit earlier this month.

Twenty years after setting out to explore Saturn, the Cassini spacecraft burned out Friday, September 15 as it dove into the planet’s atmosphere.

Professor Moores discussed why Cassini’s mission was important to understanding how life can be possible on other planets, though it has raised more questions in need of exploring in the future.

Professor Moores works at Lassonde’s Earth and Space Science and Engineering Department, doing research, exploring the atmosphere and topography of a number of planets including Mars and Pluto.
