Energy Innovation Program – Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage RD&D Call – Storage & Transportation Focus Area

The Energy Innovation Program (EIP) advances clean energy technologies that will help Canada meet its climate change targets, while supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy. It funds research, development and demonstration projects, and other related scientific activities. The goal of the Storage & Transportation Stream is to characterize and develop safe, permanent subsurface CO2 storage, and technologies that support safe and efficient transportation of CO2 and storage opportunities across Canada.
Value: It is the responsibility of the applicant to demonstrate why a particular amount of funding is necessary to support the project. Preference may be given to projects that are leveraging other sources of funding.
Deadline to Submit EOI: To LSE – April 10, 2023 | to ORS – April 13, 2023 | to agency – April 17, 2023

NSERC Prizes

Each spring, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC) celebrates exceptional examples of research excellence with a wide range of prizes, including: 
Gerhard Herzberg Canada Gold Medal for Science and Engineering
Value: Medal and up to $1M for personal university-based research or to direct in some way, such as establishment of scholarships or research chairs in their name. 
NSERC John C. Polanyi Award
Value: $250K research grant. 
Brockhouse Canada Prize for Interdisciplinary Research in Science and Engineering
Value: $250K team research grant. 
NSERC Donna Strickland Prize for Societal Impact of Natural Science and Engineering Research
Value: $250K research grant.

NSERC CREATE 2023 Competition

NSERC CREATE is a training program that provides a value-added experience to the university training environment that includes the development of professional skills among students and postdoctoral fellows that complement their qualifications and technical skills, with a focus on providing an enriched training experience for graduate students.
