Lassonde Computer Science student and Communications Director of Lassonde Student Government, Ramona Sartipi, won the $1,000 prize in the YU Money Smart contest.
The YU Money Smart program is a joint effort between York University and Royal Bank of Canada. As part of this program RBC awarded one York student $1,000. In order to enter the contest students had to submit a one-minute video explaining how $1,000 would help them achieve their goals in 2016.
Ramona’s dream for 2016 is to go to a Grace Hopper conference, an annual conference that gathers women all around the world to celebrate women in computing.
