Professor Sushanta Mitra appointed President of CSME

Lassonde professor and researcher Sushanta Mitra has been appointed by the Board of Directors as the President of the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering.

The appointment was announced last month at the CSME 2016 International Congress in Kelowna, BC.

Professor Mitra also serves as the AVP of Research at York University. He was previously the Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Lassonde.

Most recently his research into efficient and inexpensive E.coli testing kits for drinking water has garnered international attention.
