Geomatics Graduate Students Win Top Spots at the 2021 AOLS Poster Competition


Four Lassonde Geomatics graduate students placed in the top five at this year’s Graduate Student Poster Session organized by the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors (AOLS) Educational Foundation during the AOLS Annual General Meeting.

Lassonde students took the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th places in the 2021 poster competition with prizes ranging in value from $500 – $2,000.

Posters were assessed on the content, innovation, layout, aesthetics and overall presentation by a committee of judges composed of geomatics industry and academia professionals.

Lassonde graduate students have a history of success at this competition thanks to their innovation and research excellence.

2021 AOLS Poster Competition Winners:

  • First Prize: Sowmya Natesan, Ph.D. student, Dept. of Earth & Space Science & Engineering
  • Third Prize: Sudha Vana, Ph.D. student, Dept. of Earth & Space Science & Engineering
  • Fourth Prize: Nacer Naciri, Ph.D.  student, Dept. of Earth & Space Science & Engineering
  • Fifth Prize: Agata Szeremeta, M.Sc. student, Dept. of Earth & Space Science & Engineering
