Lassonde professor is now Fellow of American Society for Mechanical Engineering
The American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) has named Lassonde professor George Zhu a Fellow. He has been recognized for his outstanding achievements in Engineering. Dr. Zhu is an internationally renowned researcher in space engineering and sustainable space.
He is among the world’s most influential leaders for space debris removal by propellantless electrodynamic tethers, highlighted by his space mission of Deorbiting Spacecraft using Electrodynamic Tethers. He collaborates nationally and internationally and has published over 200 papers with over 100 in peer-reviewed journals.
In the past he has been recognized with a York University teaching award.
His contributions to the engineering profession were also recently recognized Fellowship to the Engineering Institute of Canada.
