Lassonde Students Return from EWB-Technion Course sponsored by BEST

Roger Carrick and Mitchell Palmer just returned from a 10-day sustainable community development course in Israel, combining community social work with sustainable development and engineering. Roger is a PhD student studying engineering design, and Mitchell is a 4th-year student in Geomatics engineering.
The course was offered through a unique partnership between BEST at Lassonde School of Engineering and Technion University, in partnership with Engineers Without Borders (EWB). It was an intensive learning experience focused on delivering material through a series of lectures, both in and out of the classroom, and hands-on experiences applying learnings in a developing community in Haifa.
