Meet a Lassonde researcher – Dr. Sonil Nanda

Lassonde researcher Dr. Sonil Nanda is featured in a new video, discussing his research at the Energy Lab at Lassonde, our dependence on energy and the implications of discovering renewable energy sources.

Dr. Nanda is a post-doctoral researcher in the Department of Earth & Space Science & Engineering at Lassonde School of Engineering.

He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Biology from York University in 2014. His Ph.D. study was multidisciplinary in nature with applied research in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Biotechnology pursued at University of Saskatchewan, Canada. 

Sonil’s current research is in the area of bioresource engineering, especially in the production of renewable energy, generation of biochemical and biomaterials for comprehensive applications pertaining to sustainability and environmentally-friendly livelihood.

Our energy predicament is complex, so our solutions must be creative. “We are in a race against time and resources,” says Dr. Nanda.
