Bio

Dr. P. G. O’Brien is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, York University, Canada and has extensive experience working in leading research labs based in materials, mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering. His interdisciplinary research efforts focus on the application of expertise from these fields to develop solutions for a transition to clean energy. Dr. O’Brien has co/authored over fifty journal articles in the areas of materials and energy. His research focuses on the electrification and decarbonization of buildings, energy storage, heat-to-power conversion, and life cycle and techno-economic assessment of energy technologies. He is the founder of the Advanced Materials for Sustainable Energy Technologies Laboratory (AM-SET-Lab) at York University, Canada, where he and his students continue to innovate and advance clean energy solutions.
