Bio
Sonya Allin is a member of the teaching faculty in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at York University. She's got a B.A. in literature, a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, and has been a post-doc, Research Associate and member of the teaching faculty at the University of Toronto.
Sonya's published and/or taught courses in health informatics, rehabilitation sciences, human computer interaction, machine learning and artificial intelligence. Her research interests lie at the intersection of computer science and health. As a teacher, she is focused on computer science curriculum reform, particularly for year one and two courses, and in light of ongoing advances in A.I..
