How to Connect with an Advisor online

1. Sign up via QLess

  • Indicate your student # where prompted
  • Select “Telephone Advising” or “Virtual Advising”
  • If virtual, enter your e-mail address so that an Advisor can invite you to an online Zoom room

2. When it is your turn, you will receive a text from the QLess app letting you know that you have arrived at the front of the line:

  • An Advisor will contact you via the method you have indicated
  • If via Zoom, please allow a minute or two for an email with the Zoom link once you have reached the front of the line

If you are attempting to join our queue in QLess during our drop-in hours and notice that the queue is greyed out, this means there are already too many students waiting in line. Refresh your QLess app and try again later.

Sign up for drop-in or view the current wait times using QLess

  • Download the QLess app via your smartphone
  • Text: Lassonde to (647)492-8395

Once you have joined the line, you will receive real time text messages to provide you updates.  This allows you to wait where you want, how you want.

Check out our new Advising FAQs website and the Required Advising Moodle for answers to frequently asked questions as well.

NEW: The Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Undergraduate Office is now on QLess too! The EECS Department is typically available 10am to 4pm Mondays through Fridays via QLess.

Pop-Up Advising Fairs

The York University Academic Advising community will host pop-up advising fairs throughout the Fall and Winter terms. Pop-up advising fairs are a great opportunity to connect with your Lassonde Academic Advising team with any questions you may have and/or connect with an Academic Advisor from another Faculty. Stay tuned for upcoming fair dates.

Informal Degree Review Appointments & the Degree Progress Report

As we have entered our peak advising period, informal degree reviews are currently on pause. We encourage all students to self-assess their progress towards graduation using their Academic Calendar, Program Checklist, Degree Progress Report, and Required Advising Curriculum Updates. If you notice a discrepancy between your Degree Progress Report and these resources, please e-mail and our Academic Advising team will respond.

If you are in your final session of study, don't forget to apply to graduate! To learn more, review our Getting Ready to Graduate webinar.

I would like to have my Degree Progress Report updated

We are still processing requests to update DPRs.

You can complete the DPR update request form if you would like the DPR to be updated to reflect your transfer credits or course credit equivalencies not currently reflected.  An Academic Advisor will review your file and make any necessary adjustments.  Please allow at least 2 weeks from when the form is completed for these changes to be reflected.  If an Advisor has any concerns, they will contact you to discuss.

Prefer e-mail? E-mail us your questions at We check our e-mails every day.

During peak periods you will experience delays to our e-mail response times (e.g., 3 business days or more). During peak periods, if your question is urgent, we recommend that you connect with us during our drop-in hours.
